Didn,t start to well.Forgot my tree stand and didn,t remember till I was half way to camp.I,m in Ontario and the weather for the rifle hunt was worm and sunny.Shorts and tshirts.Opening morning was cool and clear and no tree stand,so sitting in the killing tree was out.Picked a spot on a small ridge were I could over look the funnel I hunt and see across a grassy marsh to 2 openings.8:00 in morning one of those openings something moved then disappeared and then again 5 min. later.Then a deer stepped out,looked like a small doe,120 yards or so.Quartered away from me,took the shot,dropped it,on the spot.Opening morning ,thought I would wait and see what else showed up.20 min. past and look in the same opening a big doe was looking at the one I just dropped,quartering away,took the shot.Deer ran off.THAT WAS SWEET.Walked over and found that deer within 20 yards.Both deer shot in the heart.Doe and her fawn likely.Wednesday morning,same spot and got tired of sitting and went for a still hunt.Picked up a fresh track that doubled back to were I started.Got to the edge of the grassy marsh just in time to see the buck walk through the same opening.Quick shot and off went the deer.Thought I heard the crash.Deer went 15 yards,shot in the heart.4 point buck.Only deer in camp this year out of 5 guys.Nice weather,great friends,good food and fun times had by all.Browning blr 358,with a leupold 2+8+36 vx3.muck boots and a sentlock suit
