Oh it IS ! 'Rave reviews' on last years 're-boot' from VPD, RCMP, Can. Forces, 'Oldies' that hadn't shot in 25 yrs., 'Newbies' with their 'square' guns, re-connecting, socializing, gave away 3 guns thanks to generosity of CanadaAmmo, Reliable Gun, Van. and International Shooting Supplies, and LOTS of other 'goodies'. Shooters from Vernon to Victoria and all points in between. Expected maybe 50, got 77 ! ----- 'Word' has spread, THIS year CBSA's coming 'in force', and Americans too !---- Some want to 'dust off' their 'roundy-round' guns, most just want to have fun with no 'pressure' . Looking forward to a couple of guys that want to shoot their .44 mags. ! 130 rds. of .44 ? Not ME !! R.I.P. Elwin

Really looking forward to this! I wasn't able to make the last two years, so I'm extra excited to finally make it out. The 625 will finally get to see some match action.

Oh yeah, I LOVE shooting my 1955 S&W 25-2 in this ! BTW 'Moon clips' now in 'Standard' category just like speedloaders ! FYI. Just make sure your ejection rod is tightened down so cylinder doesn't slide off crane like John's did last year ! Make sure everything's 'Loctite'd', had more people losing sight screws and such last year than I can count ! See you there, Drew ---P.S. Make SURE you bring PAL in case you 'get lucky' !

I had the cylinder and crane fall off on my 625 twice last night at a club practice. Definitely will be putting some blue loctite on that retaining screw for the weekend.

My first time trying it (other than stationary target practice). More fun than I thought it would be. Will probably stick to my GP X-Caliburs for IPSC though lol

What a BLAST! Many, many thanks to Nick, Drew, and the Chilliwack crew for putting on a great event. Great squad, fun stages, smooth running, great prize table. This match will be a permanent addition to my calendar!

Thanks to all for coming to 'The Memorial Elwin Fehr Revolvers Only Match' ! 71 registrants, a little down from last year due to some 'personal issues' with some missed regulars . GREAT weather, good time as always, with old and new friends, hopefully convinced some plastic gunners to enjoy the glories of 'roundy-round' guns ! Congrats to Snootworks for the win (but wish he'd left MY damn basket on the table !) ! - Betcha' a LOT of you didn't THINK you could HIT a 75 yd. steel, did ya' ! :-0 Very happy to see Nick take his shotgun generously donated by CanadaAmmo, he deserved it for ALL he does, not just The Memorial ! - Special thanks again to Nick for doing it for me (took me 16 MONTHS last time to 're-boot' !) Alex for his youthful strength, Willy for being 'Home Base' and everything else, and especially his beautiful lady Christine without who's knees and finger strength to tighten lathe, all those targets would have been leaning sideways ! Also for 'cracking the whip' every time us 3 old guys wanted to just sit down for a 'break' on Sat. 'set-up' ! We'd still BE there without Christine ! Elizabeth for all her scoring , just everybody that 'pitched in' , couldn't do it without you all !
Shane at Reliable Gun & Tackle, Ryan at CanadaAmmo, Scott at International Shooting Supplies, all of our continuing GREAT supporters, THANK YOU ! From e-mail's received, a GREAT time was had by all !
NOW, if I could just remember when I STARTED this tribute to Elwin decades ago, I could put the ?th ANNUAL in the title !
See ya' NEXT year ! Have to go take some more Ibuprofen now !
Drew

I will admit to a large amount of chuckling over the scores, Mike would have been 2nd in Semi auto, with a revolver, that he seldom shoots or practices with. Shows the old adage is true, "it's not the gun, it's the shooter". I'd say he pretty muck kicked a lot of ass. I know a lot of the names on there and there are some damn, damn good shooters who must have made some serious mistakes or hit a bunch of penalties.

I'll admit that I was mighty surprised that I finished where I did, considering some of the other folks who were also shooting. More importantly, I had an absolute hoot. We had a fun squad with lots of laughter, crap-talking, and BS'ing and I'm sure the other squads had the same experience.

Again, thanks to Drew, Nick, and everyone at Chilliwack who make this event happen. It'll be in my calendar again next year! Also, thank you to all the sponsors and folks who put a crap-ton of merchandise on the prize table. Apologies to Drew for snagging the sweet cooler, but rest assured it will be put to good use at matches in the upcoming season.

Cheers!
Mike

Now I'm sorry I asked. Hey, If the no shoots didn't want to get shot, they shouldn't be hanging around with the wrong crowd. They asked for it.

I just got a PM from a CGN'r regarding the inclusion of people's last names. I never thought twice about it before, but with all the technology available to search people on the web, I am re thinking this and perhaps only the initial of the last name would be prudent. We all know who we are. Thoughts ?

Wasn't the cooler from 'The Jolly Miller Pub' I was drooling over, but Realtor Bonnie Radke's basket of vino ! As to 85% of the "crap-ton of merchandise" I begged, sucked, and pleaded for, again, PLEASE make my life easier for next year and shoot a quick 'Thank you' e-mail to the contributors ! I know I keep 'harping on' about it, but our sponsors REALLY appreciate hearing from you (and, of course, buying stuff from them !) . I was just in Burger King Thursday, and the Area Manager was just Smiling like the Cheshire Cat from thank you's he's received ! So PLEASE 'drop them a note' of thanks !!!!
I have one remaining problem that I'm not getting a response to, in all of CanadaAmmo's generous 'goodies', there were 4 CanadaAmmo $25 Gift Certificates. I had 'tear off' stubs on all of them, and to be valid, I have to report to Ryan WHO won them. I have the stubs for Marty, James, and Barry, but I have NO idea who took the 4th one ! I sent out a 'group' e-mail requesting a response from the 4th recipient, but no answer yet. So if anybody knows who got that other CanadaAmmo 'Gift Pack' will you please tell them to contact me so their gift certificate will be VALID !
Thanks,
Drew
P.S. MustangFrank, Are you trying to tell me I have to get another bagful of the 'I Shoot Hostages' pins I had made in the '80's ordered ?
