It is always best to use the ammo/load for your gun that you intended to compete with. This will allow you to insure that you have an accurate load and be able to distinguish your personal mistakes from poor quality ammo. It may seem like a larger expense at the time of the clinic but you are shorting your self on a great learning experience. I learned on a 223 and my shooting partner shot a 308. We could almost use the same wind dopes all to way to 800.(223 was 82gr bergers and 308 was 155gr lapua). If you intended to shoot the 308 in comps shoot it for the clinic. There is not a lot of time during the comps to learn and make adjustment, take full advantage of this clinic!
