This year Nightforce release two new FFP scopes in their ATACR series. The 4-16x42mm features an elevation turret that locks in the zero position. A button needs to be depressed before you can move the turret from the zero positions, but can be changed freely from other positions. The 5-25x56mm simply has a zero stop. it should be noted that the 5-25x56mm is NOT simply and FFP version of the SFP ATACR. It is a new scope that was engineered from the beginning to be FFP.

Both scope have the new Digillum illuminations and are offered in both mil and MOA version.

Both scopes have capped windage turrets. However, a thread protector is included for those that do not want to use the windage cap. The scopes also included a little stud called the PTL (Power Throw Lever) that threads into the magnification ring to create a switchview lever. Newer version of the BEAST will also this, but the current ones do not have the threaded hole in their magnification rings. The reticle offerings are the same as those offered in the BEAST and they do not have any plans at this time to offer any new ones. Scope caps are also included.

There is a thread in the Optics forum that has Canadian pricing from the importer.

btw, I spoke to them about the rumored 1-6x. The representative told me: "Meh... everyone is already offering a 1-6x. We are going beyond that!". Sounded exciting, but he wouldn't be specific about the magnification or feature set...

The new 4-16 is a seems like a really nice scope, I almost ordered one but ended up with S&B 3-20 UltraShort. My biggest drawback with the ATACR is the lack of Mil reticles, I'm not really a fan or the MIL-R or the horus reticles. Really like what the scope offers for the price thou. If they get some new reticles in the years to come I might end up with one.
