2015 Shot Show: PTG M700 AR-15 Magazine Bottom Metal

This year Pacific Tool and Gauge is releasing drop-in bottom metal for the Remington 700 that allows you to use AR-15 magazines without modification to the rifle or to the magazine.







It appears to function perfectly in the demonstrations we were given. Here is a video of the designer demonstrating the functionality:



He was very proud of his bottom metal, and rightfully so!

I just checked their site and it is $139.00 with a 5 round magazine. Nice product.

The designer was telling us that he used to design ICBMs... so I guess it required a rocket scientist.

Before people ask, no you can not take the pin out of your AR mag when using these. Mag capacity rules still apply.

but now you can put a drum mag on your rifle ..... to get an assault bolt action sniper rifle !

They did it more than 15 years ago, but there was not enough interest.
Also, they were doing M-14 mag conversions in those times (for 308 guns),
and again, there was not enough interest on the market.

IIRC, those were not just drop-in, they required modification to the stock.

Is the magazine release button going to be useful? Will your trigger finger reach it?
Cause on the 7615p, it's on the right side but your finger won't reach it, and would of been better on the left hand side.
