2015 Shot Show: Steiner ICS 6X40 Combat Sight

The smart grunt optic “light”. This 6X fixed power sight has built in laser ranger finder and an inclinometer that pump the data directly into the sight. Press the button, the range figure pops up at the top of the sight picture and the recticle is automatically adjusted to the range and inclination, out to 800m. I was told by Beretta Defense people the Italian military is apparently playing around with some of these right now.

it's the future and I like it, I'd say a decade or so down the road every scope will have target tracking with self adjusting reticle.

I am not even sure they are selling it commercially. If we use a bit of logic and math, it will be the price of an Elcan FIST sight + laser range finder + adjusting mechanism. You get the picture?

^^^CZ85 Combat- Canadian Forces, as well as others have been using an 'exposed mechanism' optic on it's various small arms since about 1990, and they've worked just fine.
