The Osoyoos Wildlife Federation will hold its 16th Annual 1000M shooting competition on May 14th & 15th with a practice day on Friday the 13th. There are separate competitions for both "Hunting" and "Unlimited" rifles that provide for lots of shooting to keep everyone happy.

We will again be shooting on the Silver Mountain electronic targets that proved to be so popular last year. Shooters and spectators get instant feedback on each shot on thier smartphone, laptop or on most other electronic devices that can receive a WiFi signal. The system plots your shots on target and calculates your total score and group size. It also records the velocity of each shot as it reaches the target. Shooters should be aware that this system can only read shots traveling above the speed of sound (1,127 ft/s) when they reach the target so be sure your ammunition is capable of doing this before your arrive. Shots that do not exceed the speed of sound at the target will be scored as a miss. Most all high performance calibers exceed the speed of sound at that distance.
