Nope. Well known problem with the new python. Colt should warranty?
honestly , it should never come to that . As a retailer , if I got a batch or even just one , it would go back . I would never sell that , I think that’s what’s unacceptable

What is your serial number? Mine is 413x and the crown is clean. I will also have no problem with light primer strikes but I suspect my trigger pull is a little heavier than the first batch that came out.

thanks for the feedback guys.

How does it shoot???
haven't had a chance to find out yet with all everything closed, but i understand the local range is opening up next monday

It does look like one of the earlier manufactured 2020 Python with reported crown issues. Was it purchased from a Canadian vendor, meaning from the batch imported through the Canadian distributor a month ago?
yes, the most recent canadian batch

mine's 54xx. haven't had a chance to test for light primer strikes yet, or whether or not it's actually a "revolver"..

Mine just arrived 30 minutes ago - also 54xx - crown is perfect.

That’s reassuring, I was wondering if we got some of the early batch that has issues... Hope you get this sorted out OP, let us know how your dealer, North Sylva and Colt treats you...

My 4.25 just arrived and my initial observations are .... great gun. Fit and finish are a step above most the old ones I've owned. (That's more than 60!)
The frame is completely polished even under the grips. The finish is flawless. I'll try and post pics tomorrow.

Oh... serial # PY0039XX

Thanks for the feedback JJB, glad to read it from a true Python aficionado. I’ve started the initial thread on the new 2020 Colt Python on Jan. 1st, feel free to comment and post all pics of the newly released, for us Canucks, of the new 2020 Python.

Directly related to the crown - Have a look at this video from Colt - starts about 3:03

I'd contact North Sylva if you want to pursue it.

SO... as it turns out there's nothing wrong with the crown, it was just dirty. i feel especially silly since it was (literally) the better-half who figured it out.

thank you all for the helpful responses, and for helping me chase my own tail.

on the positive it looks like the new batch is good?
