2021 Waterfowl Thread

Here is my wife with her first Goose, first Wild Game Animal. We have hunted pheasants a few times, but that doesn't really count to her. Birds were coming in high in flocks of 50 plus, I stupidly forgot my flag and her gun decided it was too cold to function correctly. So I gave her my shotgun and I took hers, I did my best calling and three loners came into my calls. She waited and waited keeping low and as soon as I said "shoot!!!" She unloaded and dropped the goose nearly in our laps. We are both excited to hunt again before the seasons end and are already planning the opener for next year. 20220102_171703.jpg

Awesome! Congrats! In cold weather too much lube or the wrong kind can be problematic in a semi. Good luck sorting out the gun issue and hopefully connecting on more birds in these last few days!

It's a gas operated Canuck, so it's possibly just too cold. Al Flaherty had a sale on Stoeger M3500 Waterfowl Edition, so I ordered one of them for her. I've had one since October and have been really impressed with the gun. She shot mine and likes it alot too. Cycles everything from my light trap loads to 3 1/2" magnums with ease and low recoil, plus extended controls and comes with 5 chokes and a sling. Great deal!

Weather finally broke (thank god) and the ducks are everywhere, quick hitter on saturday 8 widgeon in 35 minutes with just a spinner hiding in a ditch.Same yesterday 2 weeks to go and now comes the Atmospheric river to drown us
