.204 Ruger AR

I know of precision AR's in .223 (24" SS match barrel, FF hand guard, match trigger, etc.) that shoot 1/2 MOA at 200. Based on that, I suspect that sub MOA performance with a .204 at 500yds would be possible; however, to be able to shoot that well at that range, you do need to be a very good shot.

Being an AR, it will be restricted though, so range use only... no varmint hunting.

IMO,reconsider the .204,I had 2 of them so far and neither proved to be any good. The .223 will pretty much do everything the .204 will and better IMO.
.204 was a well marketed flop. consider as suggested the 6mm.or even the 6.8.

Out of an AR, the 224 AR is the most efficient long range 22 cal. varminter around. It's a necked down 6.5 Grendel and will propel a .224 cal 90 gr. Berger bullet at 2950 fps.

I hope you mean out of an AR it was a flop.
I love my Tikka .204
