204 Ruger bullets and loads

You know there will be no best answer, but I have had the best accuracy in 4 rifles with 40, 35 and 30gr Berger's followed by 39gr Blitzkings and then 32gr v-max. Best powder that I've used has been H4895 followed by IMR8208xbr and RL-10x. But I have not tried BL-C2 and Benchmark which I'm believe lots will say they like.

I just got back from testing my latest load at the range.
A little history;
My rifle, a CZ527, does not like 40gr V-Max Hornady factory loads, I could not get it to group at all. So I tried the 32gr V-Max Hornady factory load and shot a group of 5 shots into a .6 inch group(6/10 of an inch) at 100 yards. I was delighted, the best I have every shot. So I take the brass home and do the prep.
The only bullets I was able to get locally were the Barnes 26gr Varmit Grenades. I had some success with the Barnes bullits in my 22 Hornet, so I bought them. I checked the Barnes website and the only powder I had from their list was IMR4895 so I loaded up 4 strings of 5 shots from 27 then 27.5 then 28 then 28.5 and finally 29 grains of 4895. (Note it took a bit of tapping on the Hornady brass to get the 29 gr charges in the case)
There was little improvement on the 32gr factory loads, in fact 27 and 27.5 gr loads were barely under an inch with 28.5 at just inside .7 of an inch.
The 29 gr load under the Varmit Grenade shot a group that was .4 of an inch at its widest point and only .26 of an inch on the narrowest side. I have never shot a 5 shot group that good.(Que little girl giggle and happy dance)
I am gonna load another batch and see if I can duplicate, but, looks like 29 grains of IMR4895 pushing a 26 grain Varmit Grenade is gonna work for my CZ527.

I have 2 varget loads for my two 204's. The CZ like 39gr Blitzkings with 28gr and my HS likes the 40gr ballistic tip with 27gr. I tried Win 748 with mixed results and I here thay many folks are getting nice groups with the fairly new 8208 XBR. FS
The Berger 35 grain and 40 grain work very well and are very accurate. The 40 being the best choice for coyotes. Hodgdon's H4895 is a very good powder for this loading and is one of their Extreme range too. This is a most underrated calibre in my opinion and I love it.

I use 26grBVG's and 32gr Vmax/SBK's for gophers, 39 gr for anything bigger. Powders used; Varget, H4895, Blc-2 and RL10x all have worked well. Been a very easy caliber to load for, pretty much everything shoots great out of my 26" VSSFII Rem 700.
