What are you guys loading for your .204's?? Ive got the current Nosler Manual with all the loads but am wondering if one powder seems to shine??

I picked up 4 boxes of factory Hornady ammo and these are rated at 4225 fps, quite fast, and I see no loads in the manual give me these velocities.

Cheers!!

I've never been able to obtain factory velocities with my reloads. I'm using
28grs H335 and a 32gr V max at about 4020fps.

When my supply of H335 dries up I'll be switching to Varget and a 40gr V max

It is well documented that the powder used by Hornady in the 204 is proprietary and reloads will not achieve the same results.

I found BL-C2 to be the best.

These are my favorites with both of my Savages.

35 bergers, 25.5 gr of RL-10X and 26.8 gr of benchmark
40 bergers and 40 V-max, 24.5 gr RL-10X and 25.5 gr of H-4895
39 sierra BK and 40 gr Nosler , 25 gr RL-10X and 27.5 gr of H-4895
32 V-max and 32 gr nosler, 26 gr RL-10X and 27 gr H-322 and Benchmark
26 gr varmint grenade, 26.3 gr RL-10X and 23.3 gr H-4198
45 gr hornady sp, 24.3 gr RL 10X

All of these loads will generally print out 1/2" groups or better out of both of my savage 204's.
These loads may not work in your gun so REMEMBER to start below these and work your way up at approx .2 to .3 gr at a time.

My loads for my Remington SPS .204, all with Hornady brass and Federal primers.
35gr Bergers and 26grs of RL-10X
35gr Bergers 28grs H4895
39gr blitz kings and 26grs H4895
40gr Berger bullets with 27grs of H4895
All are producing 1/2" groups at 100 yards. I have not chronied yet.
