I just sold a shot gun and now I have this god ugly empty space in my gun cabinet. Been looking to get a 204 for range and some varmint shooting.

Has anyone had any experience with the predator package..?

Haven't heard anything negative about the Savage Predator, though it might be a tad on the heavy side (once its dressed out) for lugging around NL bush.

I was looking at one for a while, but the scopes in the combo are no hell so I decided to build my own combo. I did read all over that the 10xp predators were all tack drivers, pretty good package if you can live with the scope.

I've had a Savage Mod.12 LPV in 204 Ruger. It shot very small groups, under .025 at
100 yds. and under 1 1/2 " at 300. I sold it because i wanted it for groundhogs and
coyotes and it was too heavy. Great target gun tho.
I bought a Rem 700 VTR in 204 Ruger to replace it and am more than happy with it.
It's much easier to carry and shoots just about as well, .025 to .030 at 100 yds and
still under 1 1/2" at 300.

.204 is awesome! i had a savage 12FV in .204 topped with a bushnell 4200 elite 6-25x50. shooting beer cans at 300M was a piece of cake. the bullet dropped about 3" @300m. according to hornady, the 32 gr. v-max shoots 3882 ft/sec at the muzzle and 3000 ft/sec at 300M.

it really is an impressive little round.

edit:i've been kicking myself for selling it!

please tell me you mean 0.25", as in 1/4 inch? if not ill have to buy me some savageness.

saw a group from a guys savage model 25 light varmit in 204.5 shots at 100 yards cvered with a dime with just a little bit of one hole showing.he was using some loads he worked up for it.25.3-25.5 grains varget with a 34 grain ballistic tip bullet on top, right around 3900 fps.the rifle was fairly light to handle/carry.

Savage claim they weigh 7.5 lbs. Add a scope rings and sling should come in around the 10 lb mark.
Should be able to carry it to most places I am going. And enough weight to get it settled on the bags
Been reading about the 204 and it seems to be a fun caliber for sure
