208gr A-Max

I have them loaded in my .300WM and so far they are very impressive. I am hopeing to run them out to 1000yrds by next week, just loaded up another 50 rnds. I loaded up with 70.5grn of H4831sc, seemed to be the best load for my rifle so far. I will play a bit with seating depth after I try the distance run.

Thx for the load data LRC, I bought the new Hornady loading book just to find out that the 208gr was not in it!!! & I tried the web but no luck.

Hornady has come up with some hi-end bullets these last years & can't to try' em out.

Heard Retumbo is quite good for the 300WM also??

I also have a 300wm to try them in, thinking of getting a blank for it though. I'll have to pick some up and see how they fly.

Cheers

LRC, glad to hear that they are shooting well for you. Mine are stuck in backorder. Getting hot too so that will make for toasty barrels.

Well wouldnt have had the oportunity to get them without your tip Jerry, so thanks. I believe Blackcloud secured some also for testing in his new rig. Maybe he will pipe in when he gets some range time with them also.

The wife is still shooting 200grn SMK's, saving the edge for myself.:evil::D:rockOn:

LRC, Blackcloud is out of province I think. The Amax are in transit and should be arriving shortly. We will definitely do a bit of testing despite the 34C. I expect positive results as I have with most Amax bullets.

Likely, nothing much will happen until later in July. Hopefully, the bush will not be closed for forest fire season.

Got another LR spot further out from town (1 hour drive and straight up a mountain). The launch pad (two areas) is a bit small but reasonably open. With a bit of 'pruning' lanes for prone shooting could be made but better suited for off a table/bench. The destination is simply superb. Have not officially ranged it but expect 1 mile at the edge of an enormous opening (clear cut with ALOT of BC gophers). There is a side opening that should allow 2000yds/m to be reached.

The closest range is around 600yds or so. Ideally, shooters who want 800yds and out would be very happy. Shooting mountain to mountain.

There is zero traffic there. Also, would be a later date as the snow is still there in April.
