All these inline muzzle loaders are using the 209 shotgun primers to light up the Triple 7 or other substitutes. Is all this power required and does it negatively effect accuracy by blowing the sabot forward of the powder charge? I've recently ordered a conversion system that uses a 209 brass primer hull in which a small rifle (223, 222 etc.) primer is inserted for use in my new TC Omega. I figured it is worth a try to tighten up groups for long range application. What are your thoughts??
In conversation I have also been enlightened to the world of loose Triple 7 vs pellets and custom powder charges. Now this makes perfect sense to me as I reload for my centerfire rifles. I'll be going to this likely in the future if that is what my Omega likes.
