29 teams competed this week at CFB Gagetown in this professional event. We displayed and shot a 6.5X47 Lapua at 1012 Meters in brutal conditions with many more misses than hits. The large army tent blew over, hitting me in the head and arm and then smashed my Terrapin X which was sitting on the our Swarovski STR 65 MRAD reticle which I was looking through. This spotting scope has top optics and the reticle has 10 setting for day and night use and the mil reticle paired well with Kahles 3.5-18X50 with SKMR3 reticle, so I could call corrections to Perry from Open Air Accuracy and vice versa.
Notable vendors were CADEX with Rob Furlong who does a great job speaking for the sniping community and Patrice Picard, sales boss.
Wolverine, headed by Mat Hipwell mentioned that he was first there when 19 many years ago and the AI rep(ex Royal Marine) did a fine job with hits to 1600m with AI .338 Lapua Magnum. Colt Canada was shooting a new 7.62 semi sniper rifle which will make its way into the CAD armed forces.
Armament Technology was displaying Tangent Theta and Tennabraex. APEXO discussed ballistics and there other top vendors.
