218 bee, who has one? opinions?

Getting hard to come by in a single shot rifle u have a 250 yard gun max with the new powders lil gun it turns a quiet round into a performer alas brass is hard to get and rifles even harder lever guns will not perform like a single ruger unfortunately no longer lists them good luck

We have two in stock in bolt single shots. A cooper phoenix in .218 and another in .218 mashburn bee. A nice little number, do everything a hornet will and a little tiny bit more, especially the mashburn. brass might last longer too.

can be, and if they are not, they can usually be tuned to a point where they are close. Should be able to get a #1 bee to shoot accurately enought to hit anything you need at 'bee' ranges.

To start with, I've picked up a couple of calibers, a little warmer but close to the 218 Bee. A 221 Fireball in a Remington XP-100 and a 219 Donaldson Wasp in a Winchester High Wall. Along with the 218 Bee, they are at the lower end of the 22 cal velocity scale, nonetheless all are capeable of superb accuracy.
I would venture to say that 'possibly' the action most capable of providing the best accuracy would be the bolt action. The Ruger #1 is a modern grade single shot and capable of great accuracy. I did have one in 22-250 that I had a gun smith 'touch up' and that made a considerable difference. I've since given it my son in the B.C. interior.
I have an article I scanned from an old tattered issue of Rifle magazine titled Shooting and Tuning the Ruger No. 1. That info was the basis of the alterations the gunsmith did to my #1. If you're interested, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you a copy. Let me know.

My No 1 was straight from the box and is one of the most accurate rifles I own. Alot of guys muddle with there forend hanger but I have never had an issue my 218K be is based off of a cadet action with heavy barell, but fire forming the brass can be a little hard sometimes I usually aneal after fire forming.

I'd have to give a nod for the Mashburn, have one on an old Lee Enfield action. Great little cartridge for varmits and can fire a lot of rounds from 1 lb of powder. Using 15.5 gr. of IMR 4227 and am running 3025 fps with a 45 gr. Hornady, just loaded some 40 gr. Nosler Ballistic tips (15.7 gr. 4227), but haven't cronographed them yet.
