.22-243 winchester recipes ?

I have a .22-243 win with a 1-8 twist barrel.Shooting 75 gr amax bullet.Been experimenting with IMR 4166 as have had deadly results with this powder in my 243 ackley,but not so great in my 22-243!..seeing whats out there that people have had success with!,thanks

My 22-243 load is 46 grains of H1000, 80 grain Berger VLD, Lapua brass and a 210M primer. 3380 fps.

My Middlested load is basically the same but in Norma brass. 1-8" twists in both. I could tell you how they shoot; but you wouldn't believe me anyway.

My Ruger M77 really likes 87gr VMAX bullets powered by 35.5gr of Varget. For cases I use re-sized 7.62 IVI brass. I get consistent sub-MOA 5 shot groups.

Oops, no they don't. I read your post wrong, I thought you were talking about .243 recipes, my bad.

4166 would be on the fast burning side of suitable for the 22-243 with heavy bullets. In the Enduron lineup, IMR 4955 would be better suited. I've used it with good results in my 22 Creedmoor with the 75gr Amax

Just something about the 22-243 that is very appealing....speed ...speed
One day I’m building one ...knowing that you can get a bullet to travel well over 4000fps ...seems rather pleasant....
I guess the .220 swift will have a friend ...lol

39.50gr H4895 with 53gr Vmax (4000fps)
44.00gr H4350 with 53gr Vmax (not chronied)
36.50gr Varget with 69gr Sierra HPBT (3600fps)

53 vmax at 3800-4000 FPS vs 204 ruger 40 gr v max at 3700-3800. Betcha that 53 gr would now b the one whooping the 204’s heiny lol
