22 250 With 22 inch barrel velocity ?

Thinking of getting a 22 250 in tikka t3 lite. With the 22 inch barrel what kind of velocity can get with those compared to my remington varmint 26 inch heavy barrel i know the longer barrel get more velocity but so heavy and inconvient to pack around . Just wondering if there is much of a velocity difference .

I find 25-50 fps per inch. This was different rifles. I haven't cut the same barrel down inch by inch. There's a lot more variables than just length. You will still beat a 223 by a large margin

I have chronyed a 22 inch 223 and 22-250 wit 52 matchkings, and the 22-250 was less than 200 fps ahead with max loads. if you look at ballistic charts those 200 or less fps are lost fast. in less than 50 yards. in my opinion a 22-250 needs a 24 inch barrel.

i have a t3 varmint stainless that i believe has a 24" barrel. I shot the 36grain barnes varmint grenades for quite a while with 40 grains of rl 15 and they were a little over 4300 fps. the only other load I've shot out of that gun was winchester white box 45 grain and i never chrono'd them. not 100% sure what 2 inches less barrel length would do but i doubt it would be more than 50-75 fps
