hello everyone
i'm new to this site and i would just like some info on a old gun that my grandfather gave me. It's made by churchhill gunmakers but i would like to know what action it is? second thing is i looked on the barrel and it says it has a 1in9 twist does this mean i can load heavy grain and jacketed bullets in this gun too hunt deer and bear.
any info and comments would help me out thank you.

Does it say 22-250 Win? Before you go jamming a 22-250 win cartidge in it double check? If that what the topic is meant buy?
They were most known for there fine English double rifles, your's most likely is built on a mauser, assuming its a Bolt action? do you have photo's?

I used to have a gun made by Churchil, it was a bolt made on a Mauser action, never even bothered to see what it was chambered in and parted it out.

Just a detail to avoid confusion, 22-250 Rem not 22-250 Win.
