Hello all. I'm a newby at posting on this site but I read the forums quite often. I know from the threads many of you are very well versed in firearms history. With this in mind, I was woundering if anyone could help me with a little history on my newly aquired .22 revolver. From what I can tell it's a .22/32 Bekeart made by Smith & Wesson. On the left side of the barrel it bears the markings .22 long rifle otg (other sites say its actually cto). on the top of the barrel it says smith & wesson etc...and lists the patent dates. On the underside of the barrel (on the flat) it has 226###. That number appears agiain on the front of the pistol grip (not on the bottom as the K22 has).Inside where the cylinder tips out it has the numbers 9886 on the frame and on the swing arm. The grip has a square butt. The extractor rod has a mushroom shaped nob. By all accounts it appears to me to be the .22/32 bekeart heavy frame target. I am interested in date of manifacture and any other historical information you folks might know. I will post a picture when I can figure out how to use my camera.
