I've looked around for bulk-pack 22LR ammo (probably, Federal?) in Victoria, but the selection is extremely limited to non-existent. My local Wal Mart has pretty much eliminated all shooting supplies (even paintball supplies are gone - seems that "antis" were complaining), my local Canadian Tire stores have an extremely limited selection (Remington stuff that everyone complains about, stock-on-hand limited to a single box in the showcase), and the one-and-only local sporting goods store (all the rest were driven out of business by the LGR) is breathtakingly expensive.

I could buy online, but was hoping that someone here might know of a local shop-in-person location I haven't found. It beats waiting days (or weeks) to get ammo so I could actually, say, go out to the range!

Try the west shore Walmart.

Head out to Pullen's tomorrow and have a cookie and coffee with the old guys there. He'll set you up with some ammo...

The Canadian Tire on Admirals is OK.

Island Outfitters has OK prices on 22 LR.

You could always spend 90 minutes in the car and hit Wholesale in Nanaimo, but I would phone ahead since it is likely they won't have anything in stock.

You gotta support Pullens man, not some franchise, go to Pullens and introduce yourself and enjoy, someday it will be gone and these extruded soulless humps at WM or CT will be all there is to deal with. Come on!

Thanks, guys!

I did try the Wal Mart in Westshore a week ago, and they had a couple of boxes of .338 or whatever, and nothing else. No scopes, no slings, nothing. The whole section was gone.

I haven't been to Pullen's in many years. He did some nice 'smithing work for me way back when (blue & polish job on a 1911A1 slide I'd made), but I didn't know he stocked ammo. Sounds like a trip out there is in my future!!

Sorry, I don't know Pullen's. Don't know where he is, or what he sells. Never seen it. Wouldn't know where to go.

1698 Millstream road in the Highlands. Head out towards Costco/ Home depot and just keep going on Millstream for about 7 km and watch for the house numbers on the left. His gunshop is in a separate building on his acreage. Currently open on Fri, Sat, Sun. His prices on powder etc are by far and away the cheapest in town. Almost a firearms mueseum in there and the old guys that hang around tell some great stories.

Was just at Can Tire in Langford and picked up some .22LR CCI Stinger and CCI Blazer. Will check out Pullens soon but will have to break out the tin foil hat first....
