22 ammo, Mag, are best?

SO after the great match at Oxford, What 22LR ammo seemed to cycle best in Ruger 10/22? How did you get the butler creek 25 round steel lip mag to function? yep ,I had issues. Stovepipes was the order of the day.

for my gun copper plated hollow points cycle with no issues
as for my mags I happen to get some newer steel lips that function good

I've found CCI minimags the best an no isues with Butlers steel lips

I was running federal bulk stuff with the gsg drum mag, no issues. I think the thing with the 10/22's is they need about 1000 rounds through them before they function perfect

I was using the CCI MiniMags in my 10/22. I was also using the Butler Creek steel lipped 25 round mags with no issues.

I was also at that match, I was running a sr22 with steel
Lips and m22 500 round bulk pack ammo
I didn't have a single jam

I have found that downloading the banana mags by a couple rounds made them very reliable.
When I had them at 25, the first couple of rounds wouldn't always cooperate.

I also like putting a very small amount of dry graphite in the mag and work them in a bit.
Has worked for me, may not for everyone.

Steel lip butler creek mags loaded too 24 rounds with fed target match bulk ammo worked ok , but a thousand rds thru s 10/ 22 really smooths it out .

Ruger really cuts corners on the finishing of the internals of their 10/22s these days. I searched out some instructions like these http://theprojectjunkie.com/guns-firearms-accessories/ruger-1022-bolt-modifications.html on how to polish things up and since then it will cycle just about anything...huge difference and didn't take a lot of work.

The rifle I was using was new, with a few hundred rounds shot. I had taken some rough spots off the bolt but I see more needs to be done and more testing on ammo.
