.22 Buckmark or .22 Ruger?

I have been looking at both the Ruger and the Browning and I'm looking for some sage like wisdom on the subject. Knowing that a .22 is a .22 the world over I'm trying to follow the buy once, buy well policy. This will be my first pistol, your thoughts and opinions are welcome. (How often do you get an offer like that!)

Thanks

Well this comparison has been done before.

Again it will come down to personal preference regarding fit and feel of the gun.

Some people are die hard Ruger fans and others love the Browning.

I have tried both and I chose the Buckmark. I't accurate and reliable.

That's my $0.02 for what it's worth.

I'm not a big fan of the Ruger .22s(although I own three) I would still pick it over the Buckmark. The Buckmark is a nice plinker. The Ruger is more accurate and more durable. My preference is for a High Standard, either Citation or Victor models. I like these even better than the S&W model 41 which I also have.

If you do go for the Buckmark you may want to stick to standard velocity ammo. Generally the cheap stuff is high velocity.

I'm pretty pleased with my Ruger MkII 22/45. It's very accurate and 100% reliable with most brands of ammo. Dropped a VQ sear in it and the trigger pull if great now.

I've had a Buckmark years ago and regrettably had to sell it. Got a Ruger 22/45 last year and will thankfully sell it sometime. The Buckmark is just as good a shooter and easy to clean and take apart, the Ruger is a PIA in my opinion. Get the Buckmark, JMHO.

He's pleased with that & I'm pleased with this Ruger MkII I bought off him some time ago. See you can't go wrong with a Ruger .22 pistola...

I've got a BM Target 5.5 and an S&W M41.

I chose the BM due as the grip suits me more, and it's an excellent, accurate .22. Shoots any ammo I've tried.

The M41 has the 7" barrel and is a dream to shoot, a Cadillac of .22's IMO.

If you can, handle as many of the .22's your interested in and buy the one or two that fit your hand best.

I have a buck mark contour 5.5 and a ruger stainless bull 5.5 ..can't go wrong with either...tinker factor goes to the ruger..out of the box goes to the browning...it would be a tough choice if I had choose between the two.

Thanks for everyone's input, you have made my choice very difficult. I will post a pic of whatever I do decide to buy.
