.22 bullets

Blazer's are awesome reliable. For small game, I would be more inclined to use Velocitor's, Mini-Mag's or Segmented. These are all CCI products

Try them. 22's are cheap enough to buy pretty much every brand and bring em out to the range to see which one your 22 likes the best. I have a mini review coming up once I get my range membership..

Oh, I had asked a friend to pick up some at a cabelas and one of the guys working there said they don't carry them and there junk. I'll have to try a few brands, federal is reliable but u get the occasional flyer which messes l up my groups! what velocity and how many grains do mini mags have??

Well my 597 doesn't like unplated bullets unless I go to the trouble of cleaning the bore 100% and then fouling it with lead bullets...I don't know why but if I shoot copper I can't go back to lead without going through this.
CCI is probably one of the best rimfire manufactureing companies around however recently they have had to subcontract out to Remington to meet demand.
That being said, the gun has never liked anything federal made. It just jams, stovepipes,

I am a big fan of CCI Standard Velocity, and Mini Mags, but stay away from Blazer.

I have had a MKIII and a 10/22 leaded up pretty bad from a couple hundred rounds of Blazer, and have never had that happen with any other ammo.

If you are after accuracy CCI Standard Velocity has worked exceptionally well in every rifle I have put it through.

Minimags are they only round ill use in my savages anymore. Round nose 40 grainers for target and plinking. And 36 grain hollow point (almost positive they are 36 and not 38, can't really recall now lol) for gophers and small game.

They have been sooper accurate in both my BV as well as my FVSR!

In most of my guns I've found the copper plated American Eagles just a bit more accurate than the Blazers.
But the Blazers are incredibly reliable in all our guns, especially the semi autos (a GSG 1911 and a Mossberg 715).
Both of these guns will chew through multiple mags of Blazer with absolutely no failures.

I found a cure for that; dip the lead bullet in some soft lube before loading them. The leading is from poorly lubed bullets it seems.
Not a process you want to go through all the time, but if you want to get rid of the rest of a box without turning your barrel into a lead mine its a solution.

My CZ shoots a 3/4" group of 10 at 50 yards with them, prone, no bipod. They aren't hollow point, but they do seem to kill gophers... I have had 0 misfires with them. I had quite a few misfires with remington, federal, winchester... The normal plinking and hunting rounds that aren't $12/50. I"d rotate those bullets 180 degrees, and try again, and they'd fire, leading me to believe it was the ammo, not the gun. The dimple from the firing pin strike was normal, so, I"m sure the gun wasn't at fault...

I found the blazers in the big bulk box to be overly waxy. In the packs of 50 they weren't as bad. Still shoots decent!

Confirmed here as well. The 525 packs are trouble, as the bullet lube seems to get all over the cases. The bricks of 500, packed in boxes of 50, are an excellent middle-of-the-road option.

I have tried almost everything in the most readily available brands of .22 ammo and have found that CCI is by far the best. The Blazer 525 bulk boxes are all I buy now in bulk and have used them in my 597, SR22, 64 and 490 and have never had a misfire or jam. They are consistent and group well. There is ammo that groups better (also CCI), but as far as bulk, the Blazer has been the best for me by far.

I've found Blazers have too many fliers for target work but for plinking I haven't found anything else so reliable. Its the only ammo that pretty much never jams with BC steel lip mags in my 10/22. In bolt guns I like Remington subsonics and avoid Winchester T22. Blazer grouped better with the fliers than T22 in all my .22s. I don't find the extra wax on the bulk blazer to be an issue in my 10/22 carbine but it will cause issues in tight match chambers. For $19/525 rds and awesome reliability I keep a lot of it around.
