.22 conversion for AR?

I have a CMMG kit and it works great. I only had one FTF on the second round, ran perfectly after that. Using my ACOG sighted in for .223 I had to put the 600m mark on the target to compensate.

I built a complete dedicated .22 LR upper with a 1:19 twist barrel from Joe at DLASK. I have an original Colt .22 conversion unit, and this combo eats anything I feed it, with no problems.

Where to buy CMMG .22 Conversion Kit?

Is there a Canadian supplier of the CMMG .22 Conversion Kit?

Has anyone tried to order this kit from the USA with all the import regulations?

I run a Ciener M16 kit on my Colt M4 with a 1-7" twist barrel I have yet to any problems .It chews threw all the ammo I have run threw it from Remington Match to CCI Stinger with out a problem. As for accurracy @ 50M it is the same as the 223

Just tried out my new CMMG .22lr conversion kit that I got from Questar on Thursday.
First mag had some issues, mostly ammo related I think. Every other shot fired. Lots of duds. Second magazine full of the same ammo fired perfectly, and thats the way the rest of the day went on. Not a single jam or anything. Sweet kit, well worth the money.

After I was done, switched back to .223, fired off 10 rounds to clean the barrel out a little.

Cant wait till i have time next weekend to do some more shooting

I'm looking to buy the ST Dedicated upper, or a ST-22 if possible. Anyone know of any Canadian companies that have these? Questar doesn't, and it charges an arm and a leg to import one.

See post #15 where Fabrice says that he is waiting on a shipment in response to Jono's question about ST uppers...

That said, if Fabsports is getting them in I suspect Questar would be too (purely speculation though- only Mark could answer that). He has carried Spikes products before and if they are issuing export certs for them again, I can't see why he wouldn't bring some in (given demand of course). Either company has a stellar reputation so I think it doesn't matter who you buy from.

I have the CMMG kit from Questar, money well spent.

I don't remember the brand but, I did have alot of FTE's with one bulk pack I picked up at Canadian tire. It eats other bulk ammo fine, better ammo runs like a dream.

The Grey mag that came with the kit will not stay seated in my ARs, The black mags Questar sells work properly but the feed lips wear, they need steel feed lips. The mags are also a little brittle, I duct taped some foam to the bottom of mine so they don't eat sh*t when they hit the deck.

Defenitley run some .223/5.56 through your rifle about every 500rds of .22lr you fire if it's not a dedicated lr upper. One day I fired about 1000rds of lr without doing that...ended up with a real hassle cleaning out the gas tube.

They're great for taking new shooters out, especially kids who may be put off by the BOOM of an AR. Have fun!:ar15:
