.22 conversion kit for Glock 17

I had one for gen3 and gen4, and to be honest I didn't like it at all! quality is pretty low, cheap pot metal, VERY finicky with ammo too. GSG 1911 is much more reliable and you get a complete gun! I love shooting mine and I'm not even a 1911 guy.
 
If you're after a training setup that mimics your full size gun then the advantage arms kit is the ticket. Can be picky with ammo and does get dirty fairly quickly like any rimfire(about 500 rounds before it becomes predictably unreliable). They're not cheap but there is no other option for rimfire that mimics the size and controls of your centrefire glock.

You compete in 3-gun, right? Do you really feel that the .22 conversion helps?
 
Thanks for the input guys. I was also looking at a sig p226 which has the option of a sig 22 upper? Any input on this?

For sure. Cheap training while using all the same holsters, mag pouches and sights(if you so choose). The higher failure rate of rimfire ammo adds extra training with regards to immediate action drills and remedial action drills. ;)

I've got both Glock with Advantage Arms .22 conversion kit and a Sig 226 with .22 upper. I had the Glock first then picked up the Sig. The Advantage Arms kit for Glock is good but needs high end ammo, CCI Mini mags or Rem Golden bullets. The Sig will run just about anything but really likes Rem Golden Bullets, (very difficult to find these days), and Rem Thunderbolts, (not so hard to find, but messier than RGBs). I prefer the Sig, it fits my hand better than the Glock, which is too bad because the Glock is a great pistol. It's really your call which pistol your prefer. I'll be selling my Glock and conversion kit in the near future to raise funds for a Sig p320.
