Hey Fellas,
I have been working on my technique with my old cooey. Being a newbie my goals have changed over time to reash something reasonable. Today I was getting groupings of less than 2 inches which made me pleased as a pig in...
I decided that enough is enough and maybe its time to try some expensive ammos and see how my groupings come out .
I didn't even break the bank on the ammo but I hit sub 1 inch groups at 40 yards! Granted this is with a scope so its not as impressive as with iron sights, but Its the best I have ever done and I'm pretty happy.
My goal is to be able to shoot the head off of a grouse at that distance so I'd say I have achieved it... assuming there is no wind and there is a nice bench for me to sit at with a block to rest my barrel on.
I guess the next step is to try and do the same standing with no support and no scope.
By the way, I am usually a Blazer 525 ammo type of guy, but today the ticket was CCI Standard velocity LR .22.
Success!
