Im getting a new to me hornet. I was wondering what would be a good start for reloading invintory. Its a BRNO. Not sure of the twist (any help?). I have heard good things about lil gun. I also like vmaxs too.
Any help from those that know would be great.
Daniel

I use imr 4227 in my BRNO with 35gr vmax. lil gun is good too but I have not tried it. Your rifle will tell you once you try a few loads. Follow what manuals say and you are good to go.

lil gun 13g and 40g nosler billistic tip in a single shot
lil gun 13g and 40 seirra in cz527
lil gun 12g and 53g txs in a single shot

Congratulations on the new Hornet! Which model of Brno are you getting?

Neck-sizing, pistol primers and Win 296 with 35grV-Max to 40gr Nosler Balistic Tips have worked for me (ZKW 465).

Have fun in the gopher patch!

Welcome to the club! They are a pleasure. Had a Bruno and made it into a K. That just caused it to have feed problems :(. I still use win 680 powder in the other 2 I have so can't help with other powder. Just a note, my son from age 12 to now at 26, always took the hornet as first pick when we went to the gopher patch. Some cal have a higher "gore score" but few are more fun.

I'm using Win 296 powder with Remington 6 1/2 small rifle primers and Sierra 45 gr SPs.

MOA if I do my part.
