I came across a couple of boxes of each and was wondering if anyone knew it's history? or what it might be worth.

They .22 JET appears to be a necked down .357 centerfire.

Any leads would be appreciated

Jonathan

The .22 Jet was made for a S&W revolver made in the 60's, rare gun . Ammo has to be worth a lot to the guy with a gun. It was a disapointment for remington and S&W as it never lived up to its projected speed. The gun had inserts to fire .22LR.

Thanks for the leads, also found out there was a lever action repeater made for the .22 Jet, unfortunately sold 18 years before the ammo came into my possesion.

Mauser n Manlicher shenor made rifles for it and was quite popular in Africa as good meat getter cartridge..

I have some of that ammo as well - made by Kynoch.

This is for the un-initiated, and is by no means personal- like the T.V. ads say, there is a lot to be said for clarity. I had to scramble a few cells to figure out what you were trying to get across...

Mauser AND MANNLICHER-SCHOENAUER.....

Most of the Mausers built in this caliber were custom sporting rifles.

I've heard little on this cartridge other than a friend that collects old STEYR rifles has a couple in this caliber. Interesting diameter and bullet weight to me, even at non-magnum velocities....
