Does anybody have a cartridge drawing for this one, or a link to one? I was just looking at my horde of .22 Hornet brass, and one bag of "used" brass is different. I suspect it must be .22 K Hornet, but I have no cartridge specs, and I do not know where the heck this bag came from. It is NOT brass that I have shot or processed.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think you're probably OK to run it through a FL die to size it back to regular dimensions, though the brass is pretty thin and the should pretty sharp - it may just crumple if you try

Just for interest there is at least 5 variants (thatI have run into) called k-hornet here is the spec for the one I have built

Would the real k-hornet please stand up :)

Thanks prosper, I did think of that.

I am actually planning to sell my .22 Hornet, even though it is a lovely rifle (M43 Deluxe). One of the reasons is that I really HATE loading for it with those dinky little cases and dinky little bullets!!! :bangHead:

And I really love my .221 Fireball, which fits the same niche for me....:bigHug:

I love my Hornet, and loading for it never really bothered me, though it has been tempting to get a progressive loader for it because (for me) it's not critical that it's super accurate, (it only needs to be 'gopher' accurate to 200), and I shoot it a LOT.

I've been tempted to get a 221 FB more than once, and I may go through with that purchase at some point and turn the Hornet into a 17 Ackley Hornet, though I already have more varmint guns than I can really shoot right now

the hornet bah

Might as well stir the pot abit 22hornet Bah get a real mans caliber 218Bee or 218K Bee stuffed with little gun it will make a hornet look more like a fly.

I did not find the .218 Bee to be a particularly accurate cartridge, although that was a sample size of one, and the trigger on that rifle was not pretty...

But if we are going to talk .22 centrefire zingers then let's talk .220 Swift...

Doug

PS) The brass I have is NOT .218 Bee nor is it .220 Swift, nor for that matter .221 Fireball, so who cares if this thread is off on a bunny trail?

Prosper what sort of crazy talk is that :)

The fireball has tempted me too would love to try one someday. the 17 fb has some interest as well too bad I can't get it in a Savage.
