Ok. So I went to town to get some 22 ammo. Well I almost choked when they sad 95$ for a brick of Remington yellow jackets. I said you have to be joking. They told me to that's been the going rate for a while. Even though I bought bricks 3 months ago for 36$ a brick(different town).

I can't believe it.

Anyway a rancher friend has lent me one of his tractors to do some yard work. I asked him what he wanted for letting me use it. He said a couple boxes of 22lr would be nice.

Looks like I will be dipping into my own stash and gopher season will be the 22-250 and 243 at the price of rimfire.

Any way I felt like typing stuff so there it is.

Question for the the folks complaining about the price of .22 shells: why didn't you "stock up" while the price was "reasonable" like a lot of people I know...?

Would be interesting to know the wholesale price of 22 shells to find out how badly the prices are jacked up. They seem to be all over the place for some reason.

Don't want to hear about me not like the price of 22s. Then don't click on the thread that it is clearly stated in the title.
Any way. I have seen guys talk about 50-60$ a box. But when it is getting close to 100$ it's a little crazy.

For the record I have a good stock pile.
But for guys that only shoot a 100rnds a year and want to buy are getting hosed.

Contrary to popular belief in CGN. Not every gun owner shoots for fun or shoots year round. Most gun owners I know only hunt with their guns except sighting in every so often

agreed. Straight BS. Until people just stop buying it at those prices, vultures will sell it for that.

and yea, wambulance meme is appropriate. for the guy complaining about the thread.

I have checked out three CT stores and two Wally worlds here and they don't have one 22 shell in stock. Just the little stores seem to be getting and 22s in lately. The one gun store here even sold out of the RWS target rounds at $19 bucks a box of 50.

For non-specialty 22 LR rounds, you should not pay more than around 8 cents a round these days. Hopefully, these prices will come down as hoarders get satisfied.

These 22lr price sulking threads are getting as prevalent and annoying as bear defense and EE rant threads.
