Not Milsurp per se, but this "New" MP/Stg. 44 is of that Era. Covered a bit by Steve1973, just some new info:

Greetings for anyone Interested. I have corresponded with Ralf Withum whom produces the .22 LR MP44. http://www.waffen-technik-withum
Just some New Info, he'd like to Export to Canada, But needs some contacts in case anyone is Interested. Cheers to All-JamieW

Nice rifle, Wrong Price and Wrong Calibre - needs to be 8mm Kurz.

A $20.00 Remington Rifle in .22 single shot is more bang for the Buck, and the Wallet.
