.22 lr options recommendation

Just found out my PAL is in the mail so now I'm about to pull the trigger on the varmint, assuming the place I saw the listing still has some in stock

Well life throws curve ball,

The CZ are sold so new plan

Looking at savage mk II fv heavy barrel $300 and a Henry classic lever for $450

Although not as acurate as a single CZ, the savage and Henry will be more fun, heck two guns for the price of one.

I agree. I think you will have a great time with both of those if you do in fact buy them both. The Savage may just surprise you in accuracy. Some are really good.

The Savage is fairly likely to be every bit as accurate as the CZ. The cost differential is primarily in fit and finish, and materials used. The CZ IS a nicer rifle though (and nicer looking!).
There are many more CZ's out there, don't rush when you don't need to. Get your PAL and have something bookmarked to order that night.
I am a STRONG believer in the CZ Varmints, but my newest American has me really appreciating the lighter weight barrel in the real world.

Pulled the trigger, made the mistake (Happy face), to look at the CZ 455 Canadian. Fell in love with the wood and Canadian Checkering. I will say it's my 30 years in the Canadian military gift.

You did exactly what I, as a fellow new shooter, was going to suggest. You get face to face with the rifles, cycle the action, shoulder them... the decision gets made for you. :)

Enjoy!!!!

Old thread but Savage Mk2 FV would get my vote.

Here it what is does at 100m without too much effort or fancy ammo off a cheap caldwell bipod. The stock seems to be made for the same people the SKS was made for... But a cheek rest and spacers later its all good
