Asked my a while back to pass me a carton af .22 ammo from a shelf.
He asked me later " What's the difference between a carton and a brick?"
"None" I said "carton is old school, brick is a term I grew up with ."

Here's the breakdown that I grew up with.
box= 50
carton = 500
case = 5000

The loose 500 pack has only been on the market for about 30 years or so, IIRC.
I remember buying a tin box of remington like that just because the tin box was so cool! It had a pic og the original factory on it, it may have been a commenorative box.
I never saw a box (carton?) of loose ammo before I left home, as all our stuff was packaged by C.I.L. and they didn't sell it like that then.

Now, I think you can get boxes of 100 also?

330 yrs is a long time! :eek: LOL...

A lot of the time at the range people will ask me how much I payed for some .22lr, example, Eley Match EPS. Usually I will say $90 a brick or whatever it is. Well it seems that a lot of people don't know what a brick is.

I always think of a brick consisting of 10, 50 round boxes. The Federal bulk pack's wtih 525 or how ever many rounds are in them I just refer to them as either "bricks" or "bulk pack".
