.22 LR

I was also in the market for a 22lr.
I wanted it for small game and precision shooting as well.
I originally bought a Mark II with Crossfire but recently upgraded as seems to be the usual trend for me.

Bought CZ 457 Varmint, Area 419 30moa rail(maybe overkill but we shall see), MDT rings and Vortex Venom 3-15x44 scope.
Just mounting the scope now and hope to zero it this weekend.IMG_4926.jpegIMG_4927.jpeg

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all my stuff for half of what I said I paid!

Nice sounding CZ!

I don't think 30moa is overkill at all, just did a rimfire PRS competition that had us shooting out to 400y.

Edit: This would be an awesome setup for the OP, if you wanted to do everything!

A good shooting and good looking 22 will last a lifetime. CZ,Tikka, used Rem 541 are all a pleasure and proud to have. Some great gun in the over $1500 range as well. Think out budget and intended use.

"Nice" is subjective but I'll say this-lots of people by CZs/Tikka bolt actions and based on how well those perform, never feel the need to buy anything more.

Granted, people (also) sometimes buy a nice rifle, then put a $50 scope on it, shoot garbage ammo through it...then come back to this forum and question the rifle advice only. lol

=if the budget allows, a Tikka T1x or a CZ457. For the latter, make sure what model/stock/barrel weight you're getting. Enough variety with CZs that you run the risk of buying something that might not work well for your purposes. To me, the T1x does everything well in a managably-sized package.

I have several rimfires, but probably the two I shoot the most are my slightly tuned 10/22 with VQ hammer and a used CZ452 in a Boyds tacticool stock. Had it out with a friiends Tikka T1x. Shooting standard velocity ammo accuracy was about the same at 50 yards. Which tell the truth seemed as good as the Savage Mark 2 I used to shoot years ago. The feel of them is so much better to me though. Still thinking of selling the CZ for an anschutz but need to handle one in person first. Then again if I shoot run of the mill ammo will it be woth it?
Good luck with your search.

Looking for a nice .22 LR, any suggestions or recommendations ?
Firearms are very specialized tools; (it's often said that) "...a Jack of all trades, is master of none."

Your original post does not reveal your plans (for the rifle), or what it is that you'd hope the rifle to do well.
