I have never purchased 22 mag ammo untill yesterday.

what is the expected price of this stuff?

I think $16 per box of 50 is a bit high??

Any feed back on what pricing is in your corner of the world would be appreciated.

When I had my ruger 22 mag, I paid about $14 for the really good 34 grain winchester supreme. And I thought that was a high price. Usually between $9 and $15 is what I see around here.

What kind of ammo is it??
 
i just got back from the range with my cz american. it shoots around 1/2 inch @50 yards with winchester whitebox. it likes winchester dynapoints even better. i have also sho some maxi mags they usually go around the 1/2 inch as well but since the winchester is cheaper i'll keep using it as long as it is around.

dynapoints $7.80
maxi mags around $12

shop around and find what shoots best price comes second.

I only had one choice CCI's so I bought them. What has my shorts in a knot is the fact 9mm cost less than that per box.

If I shot 17 rf I had 9 choices and the cost was around $8 a box.

I though that maybe 22mag production was getting cut back due to the competition of the 17 rf.

Usually around $10 and under.

The maxi-mags suck for accuracy.These are no better than the cheapest Dyna-points.I have had eight magnums and none shot the maxi-mags well with plenty of flyers.

My present 22mag I have been shooting loves Federal 50gr ammo.Less than .5'' at 50yrds.
 
Are the 50 grain Federal's still widely available?

I normally shoot Winchester Super -X 40 grain JHP's. Normally were easially found at walmart and Canadian Tire for $8.29 a box.

Yep, and they are the cheapest WMR ammo of them all. 45 grain at I believe 1500 fps. I have heard nothing but bad reviews.

.22LR in a .22 WMR - Not recommended at all.

Win Dynapoints in .22WMR - Yup. Cheap and underpowered. Wouldn't cycle my Automag II. Federal "Classic" work great.
 
A fellow CGN'er was in Calgary this weekend and picked me up 500 rounds of CCI TNT WMR ammo. Looking foward to shooting it. The CCI Maxi Mag -V didn't shoot well in my rifle but I have heard from others that the TNT's are alot more accurate.
