This is a real bummer. Took my new Henry lever action to the range yesterday for the 1st time. Even tho it's marked 22 Magnum on the barrel it will not chamber the rounds. To make matters worse, there are still live rds stuck inside the magazine tube as I had to push harder to get it down. This sometimes happens with my Mossberg 146 BA so I figured being the 1st time loading it, it's a little stiff. Some guys said it might be chambered for 22LR and I'm inclined to agree, although I didn't try a LR round in it as one guy suggested. It certainly isn't the dealers fault where I bought it. I emailed Henry and hope they stand behind their product. It was a lot of money for me. I've never heard of this before, but maybe someone here has had a similar problem.

...it will not chamber the rounds.

Is this a feeding issue, or will the chamber physically not accept a Magnum cartridge?

~ A Long Rifle cartridge can fit inside the larger Magnum chamber as well as the LR chamber.

It's time to disassemble the mag tube to get those rounds out as you're probably technically violating the safe storage and/or transport regulations.

So now I got it working. The tubular magazine was not feeding properly. Why it chambers now and not yesterday, I have no idea. To get the live rds out I had to cut about 1/16 off the end, then flared it a bit. It seems to be feeding ok now. I had noticed the end of the tube didn't look right.
