.22 Mag

There was a S&W 617 in .22mag. I mistakenly thought it would also fire 22lr but it doesn't.
In less than 50 rounds it started to bind up somewhere around the cylinder. I went and read up and it seems that is common with .22mag revolvers.

That's all I know!

Convertible with two cylinders, one .22lr and one .22mag.

These Ruger Single Six revolvers are pretty cool guns and not that expensive. Wouldn't mind picking one up myself someday!

I found a few pictures of them. I think they look really nice. What prices do these go for?

.22LR and .22mag are not interchangeable. The .22mag slightly fatter and won't fit, no matter what that kid in walmart tells you :) :(

I have a ruger single six, nice little revolver. .22LR cylinder good for just plinking and when you want someting a little more zippy you change cylinders and use the .22mags. :)

Wood chopper, I know that they are not interchangeble, and you are absolutley right!

I went to the Walmart in Cold Lake and wanted winchester CXP1 22-250 shells. With a dumb look the kid said, "we dont have any of those". I told him I was pretty sure he did. With a sigh he began looking at the .22 dynapoints and other 22 shells. I asked him if he found them. He said "No, we dont have them."

So I pointed and said "well how about those ones up there." He opened up the display case and he tried to give me the CXP1 223's. I shook my head and said, no the 22-250 shells next to the 223's. "Oh, those ones!"

HERE's YOUR SIGN.

One guy at our gun club wanted 12 gauge shells and the kid grabbed 20 gauge shells. He didn't look in the bag until he got home LOL.
