Hi Guys,
I am thinking about this rifle, does anyone have any of this?
Give me your feedback for people who has Tried it.I will be using it on small game and on my trapping line and the target practice.
Pros and cons, please and do you guys think a savage in the same caliber would be better?
Thank you,
Gary.

I have 22 WMR.I can score 2-3 in. grouping on 100 m. using only iron sights. The Best quality for money.Mauser action. All parts are from solid steel (bolt and receiver are from solid piece of steel. The barrel(560mm) is chrome -vanadium cold forge with deep bluing.Walnut stock.
Dealer Gagnon sports has the best deals in Canada on Zastava rimfire rifles.Only 299.00$.I wish I discovered this dealer before ,would save some money. My next toy should be Zastava 808 model. The Model Z5 by Zastava has been called one of the best rimfire bolt action rifles on the market today. To make a fine rimfire rifle you need to cut some metal. The Z5 is all machined steel, not plastic like the competition. The Z5 is true old world craftsmanship. Out of the box dependable and accurate and affordable without sacrificing quality.

I love how when I open my safe you can smell the Linseed oil. As Kaplar said " Old World Craftsmanship" they just don`t make them like that anymore. All steel mags you gotta love them. Quality at a good price!

I handled one of these a few years ago @ Gagnon's. It felt like a true "adult" sized rifle both in LOP and weight. Built like a tank...wood and steel was the real stuff.
I was also impressed with the stock iron sights for a ~$300 rifle. The bolt action was (like they say) over-built and should outlast you and your children.
The only neg I've read is with regards to the mags. Not easy to find and may be a little sensitive feeding. (I'd be interested in a single-shot version)
Try to handle one before buying. Guns&Games had one on the EE. Their price was vg which includes taxes and shipping. (No I don't work for them)
IMO, if you're looking for a solid bolt WMR with traditional looks...you can spend a lot more for something else and not get much more than the Z'd.

I have the Zastava in 22LR. It's very well made and accurate.
The only plastic is the butt plate. It came with two five round clips.
I bought mine from North Pro Sports in Saskatchewan. Great people to deal with and good prices.

Here's mine, one of my favorites despite some occasional ammo feeding issues which I blame on the magazine. I know things will smoothen out with time and use.

Got mine at SAIL...they had tons of mags too for $20 so I bought several extra. Good guns for the price, few sharp unfinished edges that needed cleaning up, mags had really sharp lips and needed smoothing over. Adjustable trigger is nice but a bit creepy still, and you can only adjust so much until it blocks the safety from working. Safety just slides, no positive detent, just held with friction. Action is smooth, mine feeds fine after working over the mags.
Biggest con is ammo, .22mag is a bit lower quality and consistency then .22lr or .17hmr. Takes a while to find decent ammo the gun likes. I also settled on the Hornady 30gr vmax as the most accurate for mine.

I have one in .22LR, very accurate with Win subsonic, shots are touching at 50m. This is a well made product given the price point and far outpaces the Marlin/Savage etc crap in terms of overall build quality. Even the irons are very good although understandably not in the same class as BRNO/CZ for example. The only negative is perhaps the somewhat thicker than pencil like bolt.

Hi,

Glad to see you got one. Looks like you lucked out and got a descent piece of wood on it as well. I asked Gagnon's to keep an eye out for one with a nice piece of wood and waited until they had it . Great store to deal with. Been doing business with them for 32 years.

Scott.....

I had one in 22WMR for a while. It was a nice feeling rifle in the hands.

Never got it to shoot anything really well, but some ammo was acceptable.

Had some issues with the magazines. Removing the sharp edges did not solve this.

Eventually sold it and bought a CZ 455....no issues with this one!

Cheers, Dave.
