seems like a great idea- all the ergonomics of the AR, in a cheap easy-to-feed version. Let the grand kids shoot all day. :)

Found one version by Bushmaster (on the US website), but haven't seen any for sale up here.

Two questions:

-anyone know if the rimfire AR upper is sold in Canada?

-would it still be restricted?

Thanks- Garry

It would still be restricted..the lower is the registered part.
someone else can chime in where to get the uppers here in canada

Alternative is the .22 Colt or Ceiner bolt inserts. I've used both, and am currently running a Ceiner.

Be aware, that the .22 versions end up being finicky about ammo.

I have a dedicated .22 upper from DPMS. It functions without flaw and with the free float tube and match trigger on my lower I get 3/4" groups at 50 yards from a bench on sand bags.

There are lots (well several anyways) of companies in the States if you want to go that way. Try AR15.com under their rimfire forum for further info. If you just want to plink the Ceiner kits are not bad for function but you won't get 1" group even at 20yds.

I had a Ceiner kit for a year and it was great fun to blast away at big targets from 25yds:D:D:D. But when I decided I'd like to better my shooting skills in a more competitive fashion :rolleyes:I needed to get something a lot more accurate.

I think I dropped $900cnd on the DPMS .22 upper and am very happy with it but Ceiner kits are way cheaper.

Just depends on what kind of shooting your after.:)

My friend has a 1/12 upper with a ceiner kit. I can hit a fairly small (8"x12") steel plate at ~200 yards with it. They take some tweaking, but they work (WITH a 1/12 barrel). He has had several other .22 uppers, the CZ upper is now SCRAP. Take it for what its worth, he shoots a lot but He's also cheap, so if the upper worked he would still use it.;)
BTW All your page 2 belong to me.;)
