Shout out to Intersurplus for carrying the correct .228 bullets for reloading the 22 Savage HP. Its been hard to find these. Made by Cutting Edge Bullets out of Idaho

Can any body actually confirm that the Brno 22 High Powers (which seem to be the most common) are .228? The CIP drawings say the 5.6x52R has a 219 bore, 226 grooves.

I'd stick with heavier 224 bullets myself.

Trade ex used to carry .228 bullets but they were jacketed and way cheaper that said I’d probably use the cutting edge on deer.

I have been interested is possibly grabbing one of those combo guns I’d slug the bore as bulk .224 bullets for coyotes are a better option.

I have one and have shot both S&B and Norma factory ammo with proper .227/.228 diameter bullets. I have also shot reloads with Buffalo arms .228 bullets and the same S&B bullets. All of which fired well. The Norma was the most accurate. I did load up some rounds with .224 cal bullets and they shot about the same accuracy as S&B. I have not slugged the barrel but the European guns chambered for 5.6x52R definitely use a .228 bullet.

I also have a 5.6x52R combo for my Valmet 412. I shot it for the first time last week. It shot the S&B factory to 1 MOA! All that said I bought 4 boxes of the Cutting edge bullets from Intersurplus and am excited that BSS is carrying them now too! The 5.6x52R is a great little round.
