.22 shorts in a 10/22?

Unless you buy a conversion kit, it's a single-load, single shot proposition.

Consider trying CB longs, you'll get similar ballistics, and you're be able to feed from the magazine (though they probably won't eject or auto-load)

thanks for the suggestions i guess the only reason i ask is because of the noise factor ive some bad racoon problems but i dont want to scare my neighbors horses any other loads you can think of?
cheers!

Well, the CCI CB Longs will help the noise factor, as would the mythical (in that they are dang-near impossible to obtain as of yet) Aguilia colibri primer-only rounds.

As someone else on the CGN forums said recently, some of those 22-shorts can easily come within 200 mps of the .22 LR standard loads.

Once shot a mink that had got into my sisters rabbit cage. It was running up the side of it trying to get out when I put the barrel with a short loaded next to it. Thing hissed and bit the end of the barrel, so I squeezed the trigger. Bullet passed out through the back of it's next and it just ran away while I stood there shocked! Chased it down a dead end culvert tube and put 4 more shots into the thing before it stopped moving. I'd make sure my racoon cage is pretty secure before you start shooting at an angry animal from 2 feet away with a pellet gun!
