.22 shotshells

I was in a gun store in Edmonton in the spring once and these guys from Norway were in there after a bear hunt and on the way home. They bought a bunch of the shot shells to take home and I asked them what they used them for. I guess they use them to shoot rats when they are watching TV at night in front of the fire. The stupid rats come right out in the living room in the light of the fire and the TV.

I just bought two boxes of Winchester .22 shotshells at the local WS.
They had absolutely nothing else in .22lr, nada, zippo, zilch...
They are different though, with a crimped tip.

YUP, they don't put holes through the walls. Close range only, they spread quickly.

really? cause im pretty sure my wife would kick my a$$ if i fired a .22 in the living room lol. although every once in a while a mouse runs by.. it would be hilarious to shoot a mouse while watching tv.

I see them on the shelves infrequently. Interestingly though I was in the states and saw some 9mm and .45 shot shells. They also had a 5lb kit of shockwave.

Close range only, they spread quickly.

You're telling me: I bought a few boxes to help with some rodent problems at the property, when I got there I tested them by shooting a pizza box sized piece of board from just a few paces away to see what I was dealing with. The spread was ridiculous. Like if you could throw a pinch of sand really fkn hard.

they don't spread too bad in a smooth bore the rifling spins the shot causing it to spread quick I bought a crappy single shot with a really bad bore had it relined with some .215" ID tubing(that's about the bore size of .22 smooth bores) it makes a good barn gun although I like the Winchester shells better as they are much cheaper and have more to a pack its also a good gun to introduce really young shooters on if you set up some balloons they will hit them 99% of the time

They work great for shooting pigeons in open farm sheds at night. Works best with two one one in front with gun and the second behind with a spotlight. They will fly directly into the light and are easy to shoot, for extra fun when your the light man hold it directly over the shooters shoulder and they'll also get a face full of pigeon
