.22 Single shot bolt action's with long barrel's

Looking at getting one for plinking and hunting. Who out there has one and how do you like them ? Makes/models to look out for ?

Few I can think of: Winchester model 67, Remington 41 Targetmaster, cooey model 75.

I've got an older Ruger .22 bolt action. Sometimes forget the magazine when going after squirrel and grouse. Use it as a single shot. More than one isn't necessary. Usually don't get a second chance if I miss.
Blue grouse with a clear shot have needed only one.
 
The big Cooey 75 is very much an adult-sized rifle. I bought one on the EE here, and was surprised at how big it was when it arrived. Shot great, but a bit larger than what I was after. Most fun I had with that gun was shooting CCI CB Longs. The bullet hitting the target was louder than the gun's report. Lots of fun.

I have no personal experience with the other 2, but am contemplating the Winchchester 67 myself.

Add one of the CIL/Anschutz models to your list: various models can be found on the exchange fairly often. They are usually excellent shooters
 
You can't beat a Cooey 75,nice walnut stock,feels light and comfy to shoot offhand and very stealth with cci quiets.
My favorite 22 it only cost me $50,just wish the trigger was nicer
 
If you should trip over a Henry Accu-Bolt rifle for a reasonable price you'd be looking at a fine shooting rifle. It's not as classic but it sure does shoot well.

Would you be adding a scope to it? If so watch out for the various rifles around with no dovetail.
 
A little spendy but, fills the need. A CZ Ultra Lux, slip in the single shot adapter from a Scout. Personally I got tired of hand feeding the Anschutz in the field. Too many dropped rounds in the heat of battle.
 
Bought a Winchester model 67 single shot 22. It has a 27" barrel with standard iron sights and weighs 5lbs on the scale. Went to the range on the weekend to try it out.

I was shooting Winchester 333 36gr hp, Winchester Wildcat 40gr lead, Federal American Eagle 40gr lead, CCI standard velocity 40gr lead.

It shot most accurately with Winchester 333 and Wildcat. It put 13 shots in .900" at 25 meters. At 50 meters it put 17 shots in 2.030" Beside me was a guy with a Dlask Arms custom 10/22 with scope and bipod.

Seeing the target we were both impressed and, he let me shoot his custom 10/22. Loaded what I had left, 8 rounds of 333. It put 8 shots in .800" at 25 meters. The old 22 single shot's deserve respect.
 
I have the winchester 67 and the cooey 75 plus I have the savage 3c all three are great little single shots. The Remington 41 is on the need list. Grandfather had the Remington and was the first rim fire rifle I shot. Wish I had it.
