I am looking to buy a new 22WMR,, from experience what have you found to be the most accurate,, no Savages though.. they don't fit me..

Thanx

i thought most rifles were pretty much the same for "fit". I'm left handed, I still make them fit. are you left handed?

Ammo is the accuracy limiting factor with pretty much any 22wmr. I'm a fan of the savages, but the ruger 77s are nice. The Henrys are neat if you want something a little different. The Henry's have nice sights.

The CZ's are awesome rifles, of course. But if you are looking for a gin in a lower price range, you really can't go wrong with the Marlin .22 WMR's. They are worth every penny.

Marlin was alright, my buddy just bought one, the trigger is about 15-20 lbs or at least seemed that way.
Try the Stevens model 305 they fit a little different than the Savage. Very affordable.

Marlin

Never looked at a Marlin before..

I wish i had never looked at them either. I owned 2 Marlin 882's neither one would hit gophers consistantly Past 100 yds. I tried every brand and type of ammo before canning these guns. Just use a .223 and avoid a bunch of stress.

ouch, that's harsh

Many years ago the Marlin 25MN I purchased was as buggered up as they come from the factory. Needed to be taken out of the stock and wood removed and action bedded. Installed a scope and it's been a tack driver ever since. Fit and finish on this Marlin was about par with what Savage, Winchester, Remington were doing back then. There's some great rifles out there to be had, you just have to put an effort into doing the finishing these companies couldn't be bothered with doing.

Well, no Savages, so their goes my first suggestion. Henry lever's are fun. Not as accurate as the Savage 93, but still accurate enough. Difference of 1/8 inch at 75 yards. I like the Marlin 983, though I had to do bed it. It's also tube fed, which I don't particularly care for on bolt actions. CZ's are overrated. My friend has a Kimber in 22wmr, but I don't know the model. Just went on to the Kimber site, and can't find any rimfire rifles on it. Perhaps I'm just computer illiterate. Oh yes, the pump Henry is a blast. Never used it outside of the range, though.

surprised no one suggested 597 in WMR. I just got one not long ago and dropped it into Yellow Jacket stock that I had. Made one helluva nice gun. Some 1.5MOA and occasional 1MOA 10-shot groups - as good as any bolt action heavy barreled 22lr. Generally, I agree with the idea of putting some effort into making any particular gun to fit the shooter and to shoot accurately. Apart from re-chamberng everything else is more or less fixable.
