.22 wmr ammo suitable for small game

40-50g jacketed soft points. What ever
Your gun likes.
The HP or balllastic tip stuff I found spectacular on gophers. But I think they might open pretty fast on a raccoon or lynx size critter

The vmax work great on coons. My fav small game bullet was 40gr TMJ. It did expand and did great on crows and coons as well as coyotes. The 22mag was always a tad much for bunnies and squirrels if shot in the body.

So when you shoot a racoon, what do you do with it? Eat it? Sorry to derail this thread. I am just curious as i never hunted small game.
