I have two brands of ammunition stocked for my .22 mag.
Fed 30gr Speer TNT HP
Hornady 30gr Vmax

Which would you choose for Badgers/close range coyotes and which would fall to the duty of gopher annihilation.

I am leaning towards the vmax for the larger varmints.
What say you?

For coyotes at close range I would be more inclined to go with a heavier bullet like the 50 gr Federal.although the 30 gr v-max with head shots will probley take a coyote down.the 30 gr Speer tnt hp I would think would make a good splat on gophers.

Both of those bullets are pretty explosive and I don't know if I would use either on a Coyote. If I had to pick I would use the 30Gr Speer TNT (it is a little less explosive then the VMax) but if you can pop by a store that stocks ammo maybe pick up a box of CCI Maximags with a nice 40 grain HP. A little bit heavier bullet would be better...
