.22 wmr vs. 17 hmr

all the videos on youtube comparing the 17 hmr with other rounds are all 17 hmr vs .22lr. but the .17hmr's parrent case is the .22 wmr, say we use the same type of ammo(hornady v-max rounds) 17 hmr:20 gr .22 wmr:35 gr.
what round would be the best?

The 17 HMR is flatter shooting and more accurate but limited to Ground hog and Coon sized critters to smaller. The .22 mag however carries more energy and has better penetration for
larger fox and coyote sized animals but at a shorter range than the 17HMR.
It all depends on what you plan on hunting.
