I was in Eckville, Alberta years ago at the farm of a longtime friend. I was there to reduce his
"gopher" population. Shot a truckload of gophers with my 22 rimfires, about 150 with the 222,
and an additional 70 or so with the Swift [mostly long shots on the educated ones]
I lined up on a mound that had 5 gophers, all standing up close together. They were at about
275 yards. I was shooting that open nosed 52 grain Speer HP, and lined up on the center animal.
That shot killed all 5 of those critters, shrapnel and bone fragments, I suspect. My buddy was
duly impressed. [as was I] That is Swift performance, a 52 grain pill at 4075 fps MV. Dave.
